02 / Why Cameron is running
“The right path starts with listening to the people who live here.”
When new rules restricted how residents could speak before the City Council—and the public was denied a direct vote on Flock cameras—Cameron felt compelled to step forward.
He is running to defend the constitutional and representative rights of Ward 2 voters, and to make City Hall responsive to the neighbors it serves.

A neighbor who shows up.
For nearly twenty years, Cameron and Lydia have built their life in Bartlesville—raising five children, serving their church, and investing in the community they call home.
Cameron earned a BS in Computer Engineering with a mathematics minor from the University of Arkansas. He came to Bartlesville to begin his career with ConocoPhillips and has worked here ever since, aside from a brief assignment in Houston.
The Byers family has hosted five international students, volunteers with American Heritage Girls, and homeschools their children. Cameron also serves on the ConocoPhillips Medical Response Team and joins disaster-relief cleanup efforts with his sons.
Faith. Family. Service. Cameron occasionally leads worship at church and believes public service begins with humility, responsibility, and a willingness to listen.
