A simple premise

"The health of a democratic society may be measured by the quality of functions performed by private citizens"

attributed to Alexis de Tocqueville, summarizing his arguments in Democracy in America (especially Vol. 1, Ch. 5 and Vol. 2, Bk. 2, Ch. 5)."

De Tocqueville saw, in his analysis of American society, that the strength of our nation was in the distributed determination of the every-day citizen to do good towards his neighbor, and to voluntarily work together ("art of association") to get things done.

A humble encouragement- please do not withhold good from your neighbor today (Prov 3:27-28). Do please seek to bless someone, personally.

In this, the culture of Bartlesville is slowly perfected.
